MA DoR Certification of Entity Tax Status filing deadline - April 12th
We are sending this message to our corporate clients to make sure you are aware of a new annual filing requirement with the MA DOR for inclusion in the Corporations Book. Note that this filing requirement is in addition to filing your MA Annual Report with the MA Secretary of State. MA DOR is extending the deadline for business entities to certify their tax status through an online application on WebFile for Business, entitled Annual Certification of Entity Tax Status, until close of business on Friday, April 12th. (The filing deadline had previously been April 1st.) The annual Corporations Book is used by local assessors to determine which businesses qualify for various property tax exemptions afforded entities that are classified as corporations for federal and state income tax purposes.
