A Look Back at 2012
As a year-end follow up to our October 2012 newsletter on the same topic, Weston (Wes) Wellington, Vice President at Dimensional Funds, likes to keep track of assorted predictions/commentary in the media about the economy and the markets, and then see how these efforts compare with the actual performance of the markets.
Below is a 2012 year-in-review article that Wes recently wrote highlighting the commentary from assorted high-profile media (The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Barrons, The Financial Times) during 2012. We thought this might be a helpful reinforcement (or else just an interesting article) for your investment planning to keep in mind when you continue to hear the frequent drumbeat of negativity about the economy, the markets, and the world in the media.
Please let us know if you have any questions about this, and thank you again for having us be your financial advisor!
