IRS announces tax filing deadline extended to July 15, 2020
As we've previously communicated to you, the deadline for Federal payments due had already been extended to July 15, 2020. So now the deadline for filing Federal tax returns is also July 15, 2020.
Each state has its own deadlines for its respective state tax return filing and payment due. As of the time of this writing, Massachusetts has not extended its filing/payment due deadline which is still April 15, 2020. One would think that Massachusetts (and other states) will make changes to this soon. Please be aware that Massachusetts grants an automatic extension if you have at least 80% of your tax due with your MA return already paid in on or before the due date.
